Let's Talk About Hair

Magpies have a long history with nylon hair, but I've been thinking about making a change. The price per Persie would remain the same no matter what hair type is used.

Nylon



Pros

• Shiny and silky
• Lasts for ages
• In keeping with Magpie tradition
• Unattractive to insects and most pets (except my cats)
  

Cons

• Can be difficult to style
  
• Is incredibly obnoxious to install
• Somewhat difficult and expensive to source
  

Mohair



Pros

• Soft and realistic
• Easier to install
• Easier to be creative with colour mixing
• Easier to style and keep styled
• Sourced in the UK
  

Cons

• Can be attractive to moths and pets
• Can get frizzy if not properly cared for
• A departure from Magpie tradition

Viscose



Pros

• Soft and realistic
• Very easy to style & keep styled
• Easier to install
• Easier to be creative with colour mixing
• Sourced in the UK

Cons

• Can be a bit shiny
  
• Crinkles when wet
• May be attractive to pets and moths
