Members are expected to follow basic forum etiquette.
Serious and/or repeated violations will result in suspension. In extreme cases banning could result.
1. Magpie Models Only: Please restrict discussion to Original Finish and Custom Magpies outside of the Off-Topic Board. Tack, props, buildings, and companion animals are excepted from this rule.
2. Treat All Members With Respect: Remember, this is a small hobby and your chances of a face-to-face meeting with the person you were unkind to are high. Keep in mind it is easy to misconstrue tone in text communications. Think carefully about what you want to say and how you say it. Word can spread quickly when a person behaves unpleasantly.
3. Use Appropriate Language: To help maintain a comfortable and safe environment for everyone there is to be no swearing, lewd, or abusive language. If you wouldn't hear it in a Disney movie, please don't say it here. Harassment or bullying will not be tolerated. Those involved in such behavior will face disciplinary measures.
Also under the heading of appropriate language is Text Speak. Please don't. Take the time to write properly to the best of your abilities. Text speak is frustrating to read and is frequently misunderstood. Remember English may not be the primary language of some of your readers, don't make translation more difficult than it has to be.
4. One Account Per Person: Multiple accounts are generally used for nefarious purposes. If you're simply tired of your display name, you can change it easily when editing your profile.
5. Respect Copyrights: If it's not your picture, either get permission or don't post. Do not ever use pictures of a similar (but not yours) model for sales purposes, this is false advertising.
The following are guidelines rather than strict rules
Practise Safe Internet Behaviour: Be cautious about what personal information you share. Real name, age, address, etc. should not be shared unless you know the person well. If you are under-age you are advised to consult with your parents before joining this forum and especially before entering into any transaction with members here.
For buying and selling purposes, address exchange should be conducted via private message rather than in a public thread. Minors cannot commit to legal contracts, this means sales agreements with a minor is not legally binding on their part.
Restrict Avatar/Signature Sizes: In the interest of maintaining an uncluttered, fast-loading forum, avatars need to be no larger than 200x200 pixels and signatures should not exceed 500 pixels in length and 200 pixels in height. If an extra large avatar or signature is noticed, you will simply receive a PM reminder to scale it down a touch.
Resurrection of Dead Posts: Try to resist the urge to go grave digging. If a post hasn't received any comments in a long time, think before you add one. If you have something to add to the discussion of an informative and helpful nature, go ahead and post, but if it is simply to praise or agree (or say something argumentative) resist the urge.
